Tim Tebow Announces His "Retirement" From Baseball
This is coming from Nightengale so I'm half expecting there to be an announcement coming shortly that Tebow will be the Mets' opening day starting pitcher, CF, cleanup hitter, and catcher but let's assume he's correct and that Tebow "retired" from his dream of playing professional baseball. Let's assume that the Mets didn't say "yo dude. You were literally the worst player in all of AAA in 2019, we don't think we can keep trotting you out there when we scouted, drafted and developed other players that actually do dream of playing MLB that should have your spot." Let's assume all of those things are true and that Tebow didn't just decide to hang up the cleats.
Tim Tebow will make a FINE anchor on ESPN game day. That's his calling. Great in front of the camera, great general aura about him and definitely studies the college game and knows the ins and outs of it, especially SEC football. But baseball? Wasn't it. I just wrote about how much I LOATHE the side show that is the Tim Tebow baseball facade, mostly because I know how many people and players not named Tim Tebow people would murder someone in cold blood to get the same 100 cracks at the show he did, but that don't matter anymore. I can now stop bitching about him and you can all stop coming at me with the "Tebow works hard and is chasing his dream!!!" bullshit that I see right through.
I think. It's Bobby Nightengale remember. We're not in the clear yet. Good shot you'll still have to listen to me bitch about him occupying a roster spot still. Stay tuned.
PS - never forget:
